Plekhanov Faculty at the Forefront of Research: Dr. Anu Priya George and the Future of Intelligent Education
28 August 2026
Plekhanov University faculty continue to contribute to pioneer research that explores new possibilities for education, technology, and society at large. Among the latest is Dr. Anu Priya George, Lecturer at Plekhanov University, whose co-authored research on intelligent and inclusive education was recently presented at the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Education (ICSE2026), held at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Titled “A Deep Learning-Based Intelligent Framework for Inclusive and Sustainable Educational Transformation,” the research explores how artificial intelligence can help address the different learning needs, behaviors, and levels of engagement found within modern educational environments. The researchers introduced a new model, the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Deep Learning Optimizer (ANFDLO), which brings together deep learning, attention-based models, and neuro-fuzzy decision intelligence. Their aim was to create a more personalized approach to education, capable of identifying learning patterns, predicting outcomes, and generating recommendations suited to individual learners while supporting more inclusive and sustainable educational development.
Dr. Anu is an avid researcher and academic. Before joining Plekhanov University, she held academic roles in India, including Assistant Professor, Head of Department, and AI Coordinator, alongside experience as a Programmer Analyst. Her commitment to applied innovation extends beyond academia, having received a German patent for an innovative adaptive AI-based radiation therapy system. She has also applied for a UK patent for an AI-driven multimodal authentication device.
The findings point to an exciting possibility: what if education could understand what each learner needs before they have to fall behind? The ANFDLO model is designed to move this possibility closer to reality, using learner data to identify patterns and risks, predict outcomes, and generate personalized recommendations. The research found that the model can outperform conventional approaches, signaling a future where schools and educators can make more informed decisions and provide learning experiences that are more personalized, inclusive, and responsive.
Dr. Anu's work is one example of the research excellence being cultivated across Plekhanov University's faculty. For the University, it is essential that our students learn from academics who don’t stop at teaching established knowledge. They learn from researchers who actively explore new ideas, develop solutions, and contribute to the fields they teach. We are proud to see our faculty making their mark through research and innovation, and look forward to the discoveries and achievements still to come.
