Riding the Wave of Success: Highlights of the 2025–2026 Academic Year at Plekhanov University in Dubai

As another academic year draws to a close, the Plekhanov community reflects on the outcomes of the 2025–2026 academic year.
A welcome address from Maxim Vladimirov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, gave the event a special significance. In his remarks, the Consul General highlighted the branch’s substantial contribution to strengthening educational and cultural ties.
The evening became even more distinguished with the presence of Vladimir Krasnoperov, Attaché for Science and Technology at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the UAE. His continued support of our academic initiatives, research projects, and the University’s global mission has played a vital role in the development of our institution.

The evening brought together the entire Plekhanov family to reflect on the year’s achievements and express gratitude to everyone who contributed to our shared success. In recognition of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, an awards ceremony was held to honor outstanding members of the community. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni received well-deserved certificates of appreciation and awards for their achievements. The gathering also provided a wonderful opportunity to connect in an informal setting and create warm memories beyond the university campus.
Looking Back at 2025–2026
The past year has demonstrated that building upon a century of experience while embracing the rapid development of our Dubai branch leads to remarkable results. Here are the key milestones of the academic year:
Education and International Recognition
- Expanding Horizons: Four new academic programs were accredited, while the portfolio of specialized professional courses expanded to 15.
- An International Ecosystem: Today, the branch brings together talented students from Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Latvia, creating a unique multicultural environment.
World-Class Research
Our professors achieved significant breakthroughs in the fields of modern technology and medicine:
- International Recognition in AI: An international patent (Germany) was granted for the invention “Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Healthcare and Identity Security.”
- An application was submitted for another international patent: “Artificial Intelligence-Based Multimodal Authentication Device.”
- The Neuroeconomics Research Center (NERC) conducted and presented large-scale research involving 23 major companies, applying advanced analytical methods.
At the Forefront of Innovation and AI
- During Innovation Week 2026, the University launched its Research and Development (R&D) Center, dedicated to cutting-edge advancements in generative artificial intelligence.
- In September 2026, the Center’s Applied Advanced AI Research Laboratory will begin full-scale operations.
- Infrastructure for Growth: The launch of the Neuroeconomics Research Center, the AI Research Center, and the Innovation Hub further strengthened the University’s position as a leading expert platform in the UAE.
Student Achievements and Projects
Our students made a strong impression and earned recognition on the international stage:
- The innovative student project, “Smart Cane for Enhanced Rehabilitation,” reached the finals of the prestigious international competition Unlimited Opportunities 2026
- A student developed a financial literacy game and became a finalist in the international Generation of Media competition.
Strengthening the Expert Community
- As part of Innovation Week 2025, the international CASC Conference was held.
- Hosting the prestigious Six Sigma Methodology Conference and a specialized Islamic Banking Conference strengthened the University’s ties with both the governmental and private sectors in the UAE.
Plekhanov University in Dubai in International Media
The branch’s research activities during Innovation Week attracted the attention of leading international and regional media outlets, with a total of 83 publications appeared in respected media platforms such as Emirates News Agency (WAM), AlBayan, Business Today, Zawya, and Gulf Today.
- 46 publications were released in English.
- 37 publications were released in Arabic.
- Geographical Reach: Gulf countries, South Asia, and North Africa.
As we conclude the 2025–2026 academic year, the University sincerely thanks every student, professor, staff member, alumnus, and partner whose energy and belief in our mission made this success possible. While this celebration gave us an opportunity to look back and appreciate how far we have come, it also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
