Grow Forward: AI Literacy, Certificate Ceremony, and More
6 June 2026
Grow Forward is back this week with more sessions for our community. On June 6th, we held The Creative Space, the third workshop in the AI Literacy for Parents track.
The Creative Space focused on a shift many parents are encountering at home: children using AI to write stories, compose music, and make art. The session was joined by parents, teachers, and even a curious high school student. Led by Dr. Sveltana Chigaeva-Heddad, they explored questions about intellectual property, what creativity really means when AI is part of the process, and how parents can nurture their children's own creative instincts. The session featured a practical portion where real software used to create creative content was explored, including ElevenLabs and Suno.
AI has come a long way when it comes to creative content, but this session highlighted something technology struggles to replicate; storytelling has long been an engine of human connection, through which people connect with one another, and that is something that makes humans central to the creative process. Participants shared examples of their own creative projects, and how working on them has taught them perseverance and a real appreciation for the experience of creating art.
Before wrapping up the session, participants engaged in an interesting activity: writing a letter to their child about their own experience, and what they want their child to know and understand about creativity.
Along with this session, we held a certificate award ceremony for the Grow Forward participants during our Open Day on the same day. This ceremony recognized the participants' commitment to expanding their knowledge and improving their professional capacity. It was also an opportunity to explore our programs, meet the community, and discover what studying further with us could look like.
Grow Forward is part of the university's continuing contribution to the UAE community. The cost-free initiative equips professionals, parents, and educators with skills and knowledge to navigate change with confidence. It runs across three tracks: Business Innovation, Family and AI Literacy, and Languages, from April to June 2026. The sessions are delivered on our campus, in a setting built for learning and growth.
