Discover What Happens When Curiosity Meets the Right Guidance
11 May 2026
At just 12 years old, Stepan Tkachenko created a fully functional 2D home-defense game as part of our Introduction to AI for Teenagers program. His hard work and innovative mindset truly exemplifies the spirit of the Plekhanov student.
But, how does a 12-year-old learn to build something like that on his own? The truth is, creating tangible results does not require a technical background or years of experience. All you need is curiosity and the willingness to learn, and Stepan had both in abundance.
Similarly to our other academic offerings, the Introduction to AI for Teenagers places a strong emphasis on practical application and education that reflects today's world. Over 12 sessions, Stepan and his classmates explored machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, ethics, and more. Based on what he learned in the program, Stepan created his innovative balloon tower defense game. The concept, the code, the full-fledged game experience, all brought to life all by him.
This is precisely what our university aims to do: not just helping students build relevant skills, but expanding their horizons and helping them discover what they are truly capable of. We’re truly proud of the work Stepan put in, and we look forward to seeing where his curiosity will take him next!
