Plekhanov University in Dubai is immensely proud to celebrate the achievement of Marina Tikhonova, a second-year Finance student, who was awarded as a finalist in the Generation of Media competition at the MediaLeader 2025 Awards Ceremony! Marina attended the event held at RTU MIREA alongside her mentor and University Director, Dr. Svetlana Malkarova. "Generation of Media" is an all-Russian competition organized jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
Amongst 140 participating students from 39 regions across Russia –as well as the UAE– Marina was selected as a finalist in the "Media Communications Management" portion of the competition for her project, a game titled CashCraft. The award was presented by Ernest Mackevicius, Director of the First Media Academy Institute at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and member of the Russian Television Academy.
As a student of the Dubai branch who is participating in the Russia-based competition, Marina demonstrated how distance does not hinder passion and the drive to achieve. Dr. Malkarova also received a letter of appreciation for her support and contributions as a mentor. Their efforts reflected the international strength of Russian education and underscored the university’s active commitment to empowering its students.
As part of the awards ceremony, participants attended a panel discussion titled "Youth in Focus: Strategic Directions for Youth Media Organizations and Editorial Teams," presented by prominent media professionals from various fields across the country.
