Plekhanov University in Dubai Presents Practical AI Applications at First Russia-UAE Business Forum

Dr. Svetlana Malkarova, Director of Plekhanov University in Dubai, participated in the First Russia-UAE Business Forum, in which she, along with Kseniya Ekimova, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Vice-Rector, and Sergey Yarushev, Director of Center for Advanced Research in AI of the Moscow branch, presented the collaborative project collection "Practical AI Solutions for Medicine, Public Health, and Digital Government.” Despite only being in the UAE for a year, our branch’s activities are already strongly aligned with the UAE’s 2031 strategy, with such projects that contribute directly to innovation in the country.
As Russia and the UAE continue to expand cooperation across various sectors, Plekhanov University in Dubai plays its part as an educational institution exporting Russian academic expertise to the UAE. Dr. Malkarova reflected the importance of education not as an isolated sector but as the foundation producing qualified specialists, future legislators, researchers, and business leaders. At the forum, she introduced investors to four key AI projects created collaboratively between the Dubai and main Moscow branches. These medical AI solutions were tested in Moscow clinics and not only did they received an immensely positive response from investors, but were also recommended by them to be introduced in the UAE market.
The projects reflected industry-changing benefits, showing that AI can be applied to fast-track diagnoses, achieve up to 93% diagnostic accuracy, and enable incident detection with up to 95% precision.
As an institution bridging academia and industry, Plekhanov University in Dubai aims to ensure that its activities in education, research, and innovation contribute directly to the practical needs of the market and the strategic priorities of both Russia and the UAE.
