Moscow to Dubai: Visiting Students Experience Finance in Dubai

Say hello to the new faces at Plekhanov University in Dubai! For the next week, 13 students visiting from the Moscow campus will be joining the Dubai campus as part of their Professional Development Course “Global Finance: A View from Dubai”. During this week, these students will explore the fast-moving finance scene of Dubai and connect with their peers at Plekhanov University in Dubai.
This visit falls in line with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics’ overarching belief in international cooperation and helping students understand their fields through a truly global lens. Plekhanov University in Dubai provides a unique educational experience and environment, where Russian academic rigor is delivered in Dubai’s diverse business landscape.
Throughout this week, the visiting students will sit for a number of seminars, guest lectures, games, and interactive discussions. The titles include:

• Money and Money Supply
• Financial intermediaries
• Islamic Banking
• Financial markets
• Importance of Accounting
• Hedging and Derivatives
Outside of the lecture halls, this immersive program will allow the visiting students to explore how financial principles play out in real business scenarios. The visiting students can expect interactive learning opportunities including visits to successful companies like EEE Group. They will also meet with finance professionals such as Toby Young, an experienced British Financial Analyst.
At the end of the week-long program, the students will come together for a finance game which will test their knowledge in a fun, interactive way.
