Plekhanov University in Dubai Welcomes KHDA Director of University Ratings for a Visit

Plekhanov University in Dubai was pleased to welcome Dr. Nitesh Sughnani, Director of University Ratings and University Quality Assurance at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), for an official visit and assessment of the university’s progress. This meeting marked the first of its kind for the university, representing an important milestone in strengthening ties with Dubai’s higher education authorities.
Dr. Svetlana Malkarova, Director of Plekhanov University in Dubai, welcomed Dr. Sughnani to the university campus and was joined by members of the university’s leadership and Quality Assurance staff for the meeting. Discussions focused on several key developments, including the recent establishment of the Neuroeconomics Research Center and the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at the university, and the university’s academic and institutional growth. The meeting also involved discussions regarding possible avenues for future collaboration on educational events and projects with the university’s IT department.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR)’s recently introduced Outcomes-Based Education Framework (OBEF) initiative was also a key point of discussion. This framework is built on six strategic pillars (Employment Outcomes, Learning Outcomes, Industry Collaboration, Research Outcomes, Reputation, Community Engagement), setting out 24 KPIs to measure and enhance the effectiveness of higher education institutions. Plekhanov University in Dubai already adheres to several of OBEF’s KPIs through its continuous focus on academic quality, research advancement, and student satisfaction, demonstrating its commitment to transparent and outcome-driven education that meets international standards.
Following the meeting, Dr. Sughnani toured the campus, where he met students and faculty members and explored Plekhanov’s modern classrooms and learning facilities. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the university’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and fostering an engaging student environment.
