Students from Moscow campus of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics: How to Create the Start-up of Your Dream – Now in Dubai

Plekhanov University in Dubai is a perfect place for studying and taking the first steps in your professional career. The university combins the very best: the quality of Russian education, a multicultural environment, and the energy of a bustling business hub. All of this, combined with motivated students and professional instructors, ensured the success of the continuing education program “International Start-Up: How to Set Up and Promote,” which took place from April 8–15.

"It was an amazing experience! In the morning, we attended classes and learned something new about business development, the financial system, and taxation; and then we went to companies to observe how all this works in practice,” shared Olga Babushkina, a second-year master’s student at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in Moscow and a participant in the program.

Indeed, as part of the program, students explored cutting-edge approaches to business and had the opportunity to meet with the founders of two successful startups—Greeneration (founded by Sergey Ulyanov) and True Gamers (co-founded by Vladislav Belianin)—visit their facilities, and get answers to many questions.

The final stage of the program was the presentation of the students’ startup projects—an excellent opportunity for all participants to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and ability to pitch original ideas to a strict but very supportive jury.
At the closing meeting with Dr. Svetlana Malkarova, Director of Plekhanov University in Dubai, the students shared their impressions of the program, their meetings with business representatives, and their leisure time in Dubai.

The second round of the “International Start-Up: How to Set Up and Promote” program will begin on May 26.
