Director of Plekhanov University in Dubai, Svetlana Malkarova, participated in the IV Eurasian Meeting of Russian Compatriots, "Women of the Russian Diaspora: Preserving the Past, Creating the Future," held in Doha, Qatar.
The forum brought together representatives from 49 countries—leaders of public organizations and Russian-speaking communities, diplomats, and cultural figures. Among the honored guests were the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Qatar, Dmitry Dogadkin, and the head of the Department for Compatriot Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexey Roskoshy.
The main mission of the meeting was to promote and support the Russian language and culture, preserve the identity and cultural heritage of the Russian diaspora, and strengthen ties between Russian-speaking compatriots and their historical homeland.
Speaking at the conference, Svetlana Malkarova noted: "Our university’s mission is to serve as ambassadors of Russian education, both in the Middle East and beyond. Today, studying at Plekhanov University in Dubai offers Russian students an opportunity to receive a degree or complete internships in a truly international environment, integrating into the global community. Participation in such events allows us not only to strengthen ties with our compatriots but also to inspire the new generation to study the Russian language and culture."
The meeting in Doha served as an important platform for dialogue, experience sharing, and planning joint projects aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of the Russian diaspora. Plekhanov University in Dubai continues to make a significant contribution to fostering educational and cultural relations between Russia and MENA Countries
