I extend my heartfelt congratulations on Russia Day — a significant national holiday that marks the continuous historical journey of our vast homeland, its achievements, and victories. We live in a great country with a rich history, and we can rightfully take pride in the heroism and accomplishments of our ancestors.

On June 11th, Wednesday, Plekhanov University in Dubai held an Open Day for its AI in Education Master's program. The in-person event held earlier today welcomed educators, professors, and academic professionals interested in exploring the future of education with artificial intelligence.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics has successfully secured the extension of its prestigious UNESCO Chair in "Socio-Economic Models of the Biosphere Reserves" through a formal agreement with UNESCO. The agreement was officially signed on May 27th, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the university's continued partnership with UNESCO. This achievement represents a remarkable milestone in the university's academic trajectory and reinforces its position as a leading institution in environmental and economic research.

On June 6th, Plekhanov University in Dubai joins the UN-established annual celebration, celebrating Russian Language Day as well as the legacy of Alexander Pushkin. As an educational institution proudly upholding Russian academics in the international arena, we recognize the significance of this day not only as a tribute to a rich linguistic heritage but also as an opportunity to reflect on the enduring impact of Russian literature.

The award ceremony for the Russian Language Olympiad, held with the support of the Consulate of Russia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, marked a proud moment for Russian-speaking communities across the UAE. This inspiring project celebrates not only linguistic knowledge but also dedication, hard work, and love for the Russian language.

In a forward-looking initiative that reflects our commitment to innovation and collaboration, Plekhanov University in Dubai collaborated with Desert Spark SPC to host a dynamic workshop centered on digital transformation and the application of Artificial Intelligence. The event brought together industry professionals and respective staff to explore the future of AI-driven solutions across various sectors.

Ivan Lobanov, Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, has been elected Chairman of the Coordination Committee of UNESCO Chairs during the Fifth All-Russian Congress of UNESCO Chairs. The appointment positions Lobanov at the helm of an initiative that promotes international cooperation across education, science, culture, and communications in higher education institutions.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics hosted the Fifth All-Russian Congress of UNESCO Chairs, bringing together representatives of leading universities from Russia and abroad. The event focused on exchanging experiences in solving global problems of humanity and implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through the combined efforts of domestic and foreign scientists.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics takes great pride in having welcomed one of the most influential figures in the field of marketing, Professor Philip Kotler, to its Moscow campus in 2014. His visit marked a memorable milestone for our academic community and remains a source of inspiration and pride for the university.
