    The Artificial Intelligence Research Center focuses on advanced AI and machine learning research, with applications in economics, business, and society. The center's research activities focus not only on technical applications of AI, but also interdisciplinary projects linking AI with economics and management, in line with Plekhanov University's goals and academic focus. The center's activities directly aid in the UAE's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 goal of making the UAE a global leader in AI adoption and innovation.

Vision

The AI Research Center at Plekhanov University aims to be a premier hub for artificial intelligence research and innovation in the GCC, with a focus on AI applications in economics, finance, and management. The center will drive economic transformation by developing AI solutions for high-impact sectors in UAE like healthcare, finance, energy, and logistics, while promoting responsible AI practices, ethical frameworks, and policy leadership. It also aspires to cultivate Emirati talent, preparing the next generation of AI professionals to lead national and global AI initiatives.

    Initiate

    and sustain a portfolio of research projects in specific AI domains, publishing research in top-tier AI venues and developing prototype systems that address real problems.

    Leverage

    Plekhanov Russian University of Economics' background in Economics and pursuing interdisciplinary research at the nexus of AI, Economics, and Business.

    Establish

    AI-centric educational offering(s) by the end of 2026 and host annual AI training workshops in order to ensure knowledge transfer and answer to the growing demand for AI and coding proficiency in UAE's workforce.

    Secure

    substantial research funding to sustain and grow operations, and pursue partnerships with the goal of three key partners by 2026.

    Drive

    tangible outputs like patents, software, and startups, encouraging entrepreneurship and displaying a focus on innovation.
